Morning all
I know the result was disappointing this weekend but to be honest I went away on Saturday feeling quite happy as I really enjoyed the football we played, particularly in that first half. I think it was some of the best football we have ever played. Some of the pass and move stuff was excellent and also the defensive side was awesome. It was just unfortunate we just did not have that end product and I think any other week we might have scored three or four goals playing that way. I really hope that you guys all enjoyed watching it as well.
I have set up a home friendly for this weekend against Olney Town. We were given a 9:15 KO but I have managed to talk Kelly into moving this to 9:30. Like normal could I please ask you to aim to be there for 9:00 as the cold is coming in fast and we need to make sure the boys are fully warmed up and awake before they take to the field. I pointed out at the end of this week’s game that both Caden and Owen know a lot of the Olney team so this is a big one for them. The rest of the boys better be up for it this week or they might get a bit of a roasting from those two ;-)
Training Friday night at the normal time of 6 till 7. As it is getting colder I would highly recommend that the boys start wearing tracksuit bottoms. Not just for the cold but also to protect their legs. In the matches, no matter how many times we tell them they can’t help putting in slide tackles and on this surface they will hurt themselves.
One last thing. We placed the order for the boys jackets this weekend and the company is working hard to get the stock in and then off to the printers. With any luck we will have the stock here for next group game on the 6th. I have been told that they are a good quality and should keep the boys warm at both training and at matches J
